Commissioner McLean was born and grew up in the Detroit, Michigan area. He attended the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Michigan. GO BLUE! Completed Certified County Commissioner (CCC) program in 2008..only elected official in Seminole County to do so.

Commissioner McLean is the President of the McLean Insurance Group in Lake Mary. The office has provided home, auto, business and financial insurance solutions for their clientele since 1994. They currently have 9 hard working associates and have been honored twice with the Seminole County Chamber's "Small Business of the Year " award.

Prior to his election to the Seminole County Commission, Commissioner McLean served on the Lake Mary City Commission from 2000 to 2006. He served as Deputy Mayor on three different occasions with the last ending in November 2006 with his election to the Seminole County Commission. Commissioner McLean has served as BCC Vice Chairman from 2007-2009.

Commissioner McLean enjoys sports (both watching and participating), reading, spending time with his family and being an active member of Northland Community Church in Longwood.

Commissioner McLean was born in Detroit, Michigan on December 20, 1957. He is married to his wonderful wife Lisa and has been blessed with two beautiful daughters, Tara and Kaley. A West Highland Terrier named Henry rounds out the McLean Clan!
