Hazardous Waste
We accept HHW during regular business hours!
Disposal of Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) is free of charge for the residential households of Seminole County for many common substances found in the home. HHW items are not picked up at curbside and require special handling and disposal.
HHW is accepted at FREE
OF CHARGE at all times during regular business
hours at the Central
Transfer Station. The Central
Transfer Station is open Monday
through Saturday from 7:30 am - 5:30pm. Residents
with large quantities of HHW - Please contact
us in advance of delivering your materials
to our collection center.
The Household Hazardous Waste Center does not accept waste from businesses.

- Common
alkaline batteries are not hazardous and
can be disposed of with regular
garbage.
- ALL
HOUSEHOLD HAZARDOUS WASTE MUST BE LABELED
IF NOT IN ORIGINAL CONTAINERS! This is for the safety of the general public and our employees.

Program Goals
- Protect public
health and the environment by making
it easy for residential households to properly
dispose of hazardous household products.
- Minimize
the potential of the County's drinking water,
groundwater, surface water, environment, and landfill from becoming
contaminated due to improper disposal
of hazardous wastes.
