This park is located on the beautifully shaded General Hutchinson Parkway between U.S. 17-92 and State Road 427 north of Longwood. The park is a step back into time. You will see natural vegetation and marsh lands as you make your way on the boardwalk to "The Senator", the park's main attraction a 3,500 year old Bald Cypress. This property was donated to Seminole County by Senator M.O. Overstreet and dedicated by President Calvin Coolidge in 1929. Picnic tables and restroom facilities are available in the front of the park. This is an 11 acre park that is open from 8:00 a.m. to sunset seven days a week 363 days a year. (Note:Parks Close at 5pm on the day before Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, and New Year's Eve.)The park is closed for Thanksgiving and Christmas.
