Serving Seminole County through the growth of tourism

The Tourist Development Council (TDC) was formed in 1988 as part of the legislation establishing the Tourist Development Tax. The mission of the Council is to "promote activities that will bring a significant number of new or repeat visitors and create a positive economic impact for Seminole County." The TDC recommends the tourism marketing efforts and expenditures of Tourist Tax funds to the Board of County Commissioners (BCC). The BCC appoints the TDC members. Each is a volunteer who has interest in furthering tourism in the County. The TDC markets itself as a Convention and Visitor's Bureau.
